Our beloved Pastor, Msgr. Chester A. Borski, shares his insights into this week's Gospel weekly in his 5-minutes long "Msgr. Borski's Reflections," while Jeff has shared his love of historical detail with his lively and informed Faith in his hour-long reflections on "This Sunday's" readings.
Liturgical Year and the Readings
There are usually four readings for each Sunday Mass, one each from the Psalms, the Old Testament, an Epistle, and culminating with a Gospel reading. However, during the seven Sundays of Easter, the Old Testament Reading is replaced with a reading from Acts.
Each year in the 3-year cycle, the readings focus on one of the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, or Luke), with readings from the Gospel of John used throughout the year. The Gospel of Matthew is the focus of Year A, Mark of Year B, and Luke of Year C.
